Fundraiser FAQs

How does it work?

Step 1.  Get a free brochure for each player, includes product list and order form.
Step 2.  Ask friends, family, and close neighbors to support your team by purchasing one or more scented candles.
Step 3.  Collect the money up front and have the order-taker write down their name, phone number, and address.
Step 4.  Collect all order forms and money after fundraising campaign is over, and place bulk purchase. 
Step 5.  You’ll pay Haybrook Candles with the funds you’ve collected, and you’ll get to keep 40% of what you’ve sold.
Step 6.  Finally, now it is time to deliver them.

 

How long should our fundraiser last?

We recommend selling for 2 to 3 weeks. Be sure to include at least 2 weekends.  This keeps the sellers motivated and on track.

Do you offer online purchases for my fundraiser?

Yes, BUT there is a 3% payment processing fee.  The supporter will need to input the organization's name in the field provided when placing the order.  We recommend using the traditional order form when possible to avoid fees. 

Why Haybrook Candles

Our luxury scented candles are hand-poured locally in Southern California. They are made of 100% soy wax derived from American grown soybeans, cotton wicks and the highest quality fragrance oils that are free of phthalates, carcinogens and toxins.

Other candle companies offering fundraising opportunities are mostly located outside of the state that result in long processing times and high shipping fees. Also, they typically use paraffin wax which is petroleum-based that produces a black soot that can stain curtains, walls, and carpets inside the home. The soy wax used by Haybrook Candles is biodegradable unlike petrol based paraffin, making it an investment that benefits both yourself and the environment.

Are there any upfront costs?

There are NO upfront costs. 

Why use scented candles for a fundraiser?

Most people like the warmth and personal style that luxury scented candles bring to their homes. People often purchase candles to add scent and decoration to their homes so why not offer them something they already want and support the organization's mission? 

This fundraiser is an excellent opportunity for supporters to stock up on gifts for their friends and family. Luxury scented candles make outstanding gifts to have on hand as prizes for baby showers, bridal showers, for secret Santa gifts, or when you just want to give a little something to brighten someone’s day. In fact, scented candle purchasers say they view candles as an appropriate gift for the holidays (76%), as a housewarming gift (74%), a hostess/dinner party gift (66%), a thank you (61%) and as adult birthday gifts (58%).  

How does this compare to other fundraisers?

Some popular fundraisers like Superbowl Squares or 50/50 raffle are fun but the probability of your supporter winning can be as low as 1%. And while the profit margin is generally 50% for the team, the participation rate is relatively limited to close friends and family resulting in a smaller opportunity to raise funds. This fundraiser guarantees the supporter something special with every purchase.
